Raul Cardona-Torres

Raul is the Chief Quality and Regulatory Officer at Simtra BioPharma Solutions, responsible for establishing systems and processes to strengthen our quality and compliance profile and leadership position in the industry. Raul is helping Simtra set new standards for excellence in delivering advanced cGMP sterile fill and finish that surpass the expectations of clients and partners.

Raul’s distinguished career is rooted in a deep understanding of sterile operations and biological products, supported by his Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry. His experience spans quality, regulatory affairs, and operations. At Thermo Fisher Scientific, Raul held the position of Group Vice President of Quality for the Pharma Services Group, where he was instrumental in overseeing the quality operations across facilities in the United States, Mexico, and Italy. Raul has also held key leadership positions at Abbott Medical Optics, Covidien and Johnson & Johnson. His extensive experience in these strategic roles has equipped him with the skills to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and drive quality across all aspects of production.

Under his leadership, Simtra’s Quality Assurance teams work collaboratively across a global network of internal manufacturing facilities, external partners, and suppliers. Raul’s vision is to maintain an unwavering commitment to delivering products to customers and patients correctly, without deviations, across the globe.
